Party membership, which was less than 9,000 in the year 2000, today stands at more than 17,500, and there are now twenty-one elected Republican officials representing constituents within the parish.

The Congressional election on Saturday, May 3rd could be decided by a few hundred votes. If you are in Congressional District 6 and did not vote early, please vote on Election Day.

Ascension Republican PEC Officers Receive Awards In a brief ceremony prior to the program at the Ascension GOP Roundtable on February 21st at Frank's Restaurant, three officers of the Republican Parish Executive Committee were recognized for their years of service with the Ascension Republican Party. The officers honored were Harold LaCour (c), elected Chairman in 2004, Bill Liehe, Secretary from 2002 to the present and Beverly Weselak, Treasurer since 2004.
